Savvy Updates

June 8 marked the end of my 27th year in education! It is amazing how fast the years fly by. My end of the year schedule is always so busy that it’s hard to get excited about summer break until the very last day of school. I coordinate six grade level assemblies every year which includes printing certificates for about 650 kids with some of them receiving 2-5 certificates each! Needless to say, when we finally finished the sixth assembly (the 5th grade celebration) yesterday morning, I was finally able to exhale! It’s so much work preparing the awards, but it’s wonderful to see the proud parents and students as each of their names are called to receive them. Now it’s time to clean up the aftermath of the “tornado” that hit my office! Two more workdays to go!

I shared a second video on my Facebook page yesterday about my new book, The No More Bullying Book for Kids. It will officially release on June 26th which is about two weeks from now! I’m so excited about it! My latest video provides a thumb through of the book. If you haven’t already seen it, check it out today!

Last week in my newsletter, I mentioned the three new Facebook groups I’ve created. The first one is called The Savvy School Counselor Tribe. This is an exclusive group for my followers for idea sharing, future giveaways, freebies, and Savvy News.

The second group is called National Boards Support Group for School Counselors. This group is a support system specifically for school counselors. It is my hope that NBCTs and candidates will both join and share ideas, help each other, and support each other through the National Boards process.

The third group is called National Boards Renewal Support Group for School Counselors. This group is just like the previous group, but specifically for renewal candidates. I just completed my renewal this year and am awaiting my results. Fingers crossed!!
