About Me
Hello, and welcome to my school counseling blog! My name is Vanessa, and I have been an educator since 1991. I taught second grade for thirteen years and then became a school counselor in 2004. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education Degree in Counseling. I am also a 2009 National Board Certified Teacher in the area of School Counseling.
I have one beautiful daughter and one rambunctious Miniature Schnauzer who both keep me on my toes. I absolutely love all things Disney and spend most (if not all) of my planned vacations at Walt Disney World or on a Disney Cruise. I am an active member of my church where I am a praise and worship leader and member of the choir.
I am the author of The No More Bullying Book for Kids and Me and My Feelings: A Kids’ Guide to Understanding and Expressing Themselves.
I look forward to sharing with, as well as learning from, all of you!

I love your blog! I’m in teacher education and always looking for new websites to share with my students. I also teach them how to make foldables for instruction, and I love showing them examples in “real” classrooms. Thanks for the great examples. I can’t wait to see what you post next.
